Terminator notes

For this section of my coursework, it is important to note that another classmate, Zoe worked with me in order to research for my Talking Heads video. It is also important to note that even though Zoe and I worked together on the planning for our talking heads, we ultimately decided to make our Talking Heads individually, however we both used our research and notes in order to make our videos:

The following are the notes and script on the representation of Sarah Connor and the use of Genre elements within the Terminator films, I used these notes as my script in order to make my talking heads video which can be found in UNIT 26:

The following are all the notes I have made while watching James Cameron's 1984 sci-fi film 'The Terminator', the notes have made will be used for my 'Talking Heads video' for UNIT 26 (can also be found bellow in UNIT 2):

Talking Heads Video Review:

Personally, I feel that my talking heads video went well but there are many of adjustments I could make in order to improve upon in. Firstly, its important to note that in class, Zoe and myself created a PPT on the representation of Sarah Connor in the scene where we first meet her character, we then used this PPT as the basis for our talking heads video’s, it is also important to note that while the PPT we used was created by the both of us, we decided to create our talking heads video’s individually.

What Went Well?

Personally I feel that the analysis we did on Sarah Connor’s character and the analysis of the mise-en-scene in our chosen scenes was good as I feel it was in depth and detailed, this meant I could later analyse the elements of mise-en-scene well within my talking heads.

How Could It Be Improved?

There are many ways that I could also improve upon my talking heads, for example: instead of just recording my voice I could have used a video-camera in order to directly talk to the audience, I could also have used a green screen in order to improve the quality of my video. Another way I feel I could’ve improved upon my talking heads video is by relating the representation of Sarah Connor to different feminist theories I have researched such as Laura Mulvey’s ‘Male Gaze’ theory, this would’ve allowed me to more closely analyse the representation of her character.
