Rogue Nation:
Costs and Box Office:
Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation had a production budget of $150,000,000.On opening weekend, mission impossible was number one at the box office and raked in worldwide box office results of $657,513,302+ ($192,813,302 - Domestic). Personally, I think that this film was not a gamble for Paramount or the creators of the the film due to the fact that Rogue Nation is part of the popular film franchise Mission: Impossible. Realistically, most films can be a gamble towards production companies due to the fact that people may not end up seing the film or the fact that the costs may outweigh the budget of the production, however i think that the box office launch of Rogue Nation was a success for paramount. Rogue Nation was most likely chosen as a summer blockbuster in order to increase viewing, for example because the final film had a age rating of PG-13, the production company may have decided to launch it in the summer because teens and children are likely to go to the cinemato see the film during their hollidays.

Marketing:
Production companies will use a variey of different methods in order to market their products and films in order to promote the product and increase viewers:
Posters:
Posters are a fundimental part of marketing when it comes to Film productions, posters are a cheap and simple way of communicating to a specific target market/audience. Appealing and attractive posters can be succesfully used in order to attract nearby people to promote the product. Attractive posters will keep in the viewers mind, posters are also fairly cheap to produce and manufacture. Using strategic location, film companies will place these posters in certain locations where they will make people want to view the film, for example posters will be placed near city centres in a variety of locations, for example buses and billboards in order to entice a wide audience. Posters will also be placed on the internet, for example social media sites, these sites will allow production companies to place their adverts online for free to a wide range of different markets and audiences.

Genre elements - Props, settings and actors from a specefic genre will be shown in posters in order to portray the theme of the film. This poster uses people on motorbikes and an explosion in order to emphasise the chaotic action in the film's genre.
Stars - The main stars of the film have been shown on the poster in order to market the film. for example well known actors from action film genres are shown such as Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner, placing the stars on the poster will help to increase interest in the film becuase the stars may have a large fan base who will be interested in seing the film because they are in it.
Organisation and layout - The layout and design of the poster will portray many aspects of the film in order to convey specefic ideas to the audience before viewing the film. For example the Rogue Nation trailer has a chaotic disordered layout in order to emphasise the theme and tone of the feature.
Interviews:
Interviews are also a common methon of marketing in the film industy, when actors play roles in a film they sign a contract which abliges them to go to interviews and events in order to promote the film to audiences. Chat shows and news interviews, these interviews involve talking about thenew film and the launch in order to inform more poeple about it. These interviews can be shown on televesion and streaming services such as YouTube in order to maximise the awareness of the film.
